Melissa Logan - Attorney at Law
Melissa Logan was born and attended school in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Houston and majored in political science.
She worked in grocery store management for Safeway Food Stores for five years and was one of the first women in grocery management in the Midwest. Later she was one of the first women grocery store managers in the South for Kenyan Enterprises. Grocery management taught Melissa every facet of the retail business in particularly the requirements of federal employment law. After moving to Florida she worked for the State of Florida as an Unemployment Compensation Claims Adjudicator and then for nine years as an Ombudsmen for the Division of Workers' Compensation Employee Assistance Office. As an Unemployment Compensation Claims Adjudicator she adjudicated entitlement to unemployment benefits based on the reason for separation from employment. As an Ombudsman she resolved issues between employers, injured workers, insurance carriers and health care providers. As an Ombudsman, Melissa discovered how badly the injured worker is treated in Florida by the employers and the insurance carriers; this inspired her to go to law school in order to help the injured workers deal with their employers and insurance companies.
