The Trial Pro Pledge of Clear Advice and Regular Client Contact
Far and away the number one complaint we hear expressed by new clients about their former attorneys is that their old attorneys never returned their calls, and in some instances, never met with or even spoke with them over the telephone. At some firms, it may be difficult for clients to reach the actual attorney working on the case. We always want our clients to know how hard we’re working for them. Regular communication with our clients is an extremely important part of our practice. There are certainly many instances where we may not have any meaningful developments in a case for months at a time such as periods of time while our clients are treating with doctors, but they still deserve regular contact. Attorneys often forget that while they do this day in and day out for a living, many of our clients have never needed an attorney before and they have no experience with attorneys in the legal process.
We’re available to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our consultations are always free.
Another annoyance expressed by our clients is attorneys who are afraid to give a clear opinion or recommendation on a legal issue. Our attorneys will be the first to tell clients that we can never guarantee a particular outcome in a case, especially at trial. However, we do not shy away from clearly and directly expressing our views and opinions on case issues to our clients.
Our job is to lay all the cards on the table for the client and to discuss all the strengths and weaknesses of our case to help our clients make the most-informed decision they can. Every client is different, and some clients are more risk adverse than others. When it is time for us to discuss potential settlements and/or trial possibilities with our clients, we pretend that the client is family. How would be advise our mothers or my sisters in this situation? At the end of the day, the client is the boss, and we will follow those clients’ instructions. The Trial Professionals want to make sure that we have properly and thoroughly counselled our client; after all that’s why they hire us in the first place.
